Matt Higgins goes full ENS bull on Twitter Spaces
GM GM!
Some quick notes from the big stories of the week:
One of the most bullish weeks in a long time, primarily due to Matt Higgins doing almost two hours of ENS talk on Twitter Spaces
Jack Butcher bought another ENS name, nodes.eth for 5eth
Lots of Twitter discussion about a potential second ENS airdrop
Frank DeGods (major NFT influencer and founder of DeGods) acquired his ENS name and got crazy engagement in the announcement
Balaji discussing ENS with Shopify founder tobi.eth on his new podcast
pfp.eth sold for 40eth, buyer also paid $353k for pfp.com today
Let’s get into it!
Matt Higgins drops the mic
We finally got to hear Matt’s detailed thoughts on why he is so bullish on ENS. And he over delivered!
First, who is Matt Higgins?
former host of Shark Tank
partner of Gary Vee
CEO of RSE Ventures
former Vice Chairman of Miami Dolphins (2012-2021)
Matt is a truly prolific individual. And he understands business inside and out.
He did a live Twitter Spaces, hosted by @sadaf_eth, that was incredible. He went over a ton of big-picture aspects of ENS and why it has the potential to be used by billions of people in the relatively near future.
Here are some of the things he discussed:
ENS will be bigger than DNS. DNS is only for websites, ENS is for all individuals
It is a worldwide technology that has no borders
There will need to be a naming system as crypto, defi, and the metaverse come to life. ENS is leading by a large margin and has the best tech
It’s smarter to bet on infrastructure than on individual use cases
Most obvious use case is subdomains for big brands and celebrities
No rug pull risk
Awesome to be so early to world-changing tech
Sports teams’ fan clubs will move to the blockchain, with members getting subdomains
Subdomain wrapper is needed to get brands to care about acquiring their ENS name
Focus on acquiring names that resonate deeply with many people
Gift names to friends because it’s awesome
ENS is so exciting with so much upside; regular NFTs have become boring
ENS needs a marketing working group
We are so early
He went over a lot more than this, but these were most of the high-level points.
Having someone of his stature and connections in the community is a massive win for ENS. We should be thankful to have him. And try to utilize him when possible (DAO partnership of some kind???).
Highly recommend everyone listen to the entire thing. I wrote up a full recap Twitter thread if you don’t have time to listen that you can check out as well.
Thanks for being a great steward of the community, Matt!
This is an excellent recap of my spaces yesterday on how #ENS has the potential to unleash so much innovation and catalyze adoption, expertly hosted by @sadaf_eth.
Thank me later for the two hours of your life you just got back. Our enthusiasm got the best of us 🔥🔥🔥

5-character domain with obvious meaning, so only $5 renewal cost
While it is a misspelling, its the most obvious and best misspelling of one of the most investible words out there
If you were going to buy one misspelled ENS domain, this might be one of the top 10 that exist
The price is amazing
Want to give readers a chance to buy it first, but if no one does in 24 hours, I will likely pick it up
Buy it on ens.vision
0.015eth ($25)
Most people are unaware of the "REGISTRANT" and "CONTROLLER" functions of their #ENSDomain, but when used properly they allow you to grant access to your #ENS name without the risk of losing it.
Let me explain:

The beauty of ENS domains is that they provide a user-friendly way to access the decentralized web. No more long, complicated blockchain addresses - just a simple, memorable name to represent your identity. #ENS#decentralization#web3

Major companies who own their .eth domain 👇
- Puma owns puma.eth
- Budweiser owns beer.eth
- Hublot owns hublot.eth
- Gucci owns gucci.eth
- KPMG Canada owns kpmgca.eth
All have been verified and confirmed.
You are slowly seeing the world shift towards #ENS domains.

Verification in Web 2: Pay $12 a month to Twitter, Instagram, etc. 🙄
Verification in Web 3: Sign in with Ethereum/ENS 🥰
I wonder who will win... 🤔😂✅

Make sure you’re checking the ENS HQ website every day for the best tweets!
fyp.eth is the community member of the week!
He’s a doxxed member who is putting in serious work to help onboard more young people into the ENS community
He’s been putting out great short-form videos on Twitter and TikTok aimed at onboarding people from those communities
He’s also been writing great threads that go along with the video content he is making
Great, genuine guy who is willing to help anyone in the space when he can
I suspect he is going to play a big part in driving knowledge of the ENS space to the TikTok crowd
Check out his Twitter page here: @fyp_eth
Purrnelopes Country Club
One of the most innovative PFP projects out there
They are the first PFP to give ENS subdomains to all of their holders, pcc.eth
They also hold lots of blue chip NFTs in their treasury, including a Bored Ape and Crypto Punk
The founder, @carlini8NFT, is super smart and a great thought leader for the space
The floor is currently at 0.11eth or $183
Check it out on Opensea
